Jos joined the Lemmens Institute in Louvain (now known as LUCA School of Arts) as a double bass teacher in 2005.

In 2010, he took master classes with François Rabbath in Paris.

Rabbath developed a revolutionary technique, which basically consists of the left hand positions being reduced to 6, while at the same time using the ‘Pivot’ and ‘Crab’ techniques.

Additionally, the endpin is placed at an angle which causes the bass to be more evenly distributed. This makes the higher registers far easier to reach.
